Friday Poem

June 15, 2007

A change of pace this week: two summer haiku by Matsuo Basho.

The oak tree:

in cherry blossoms. (translated by Robert Hass)

The old pond, yes, and
A frog is jumping into
The water, and splash. (translated by G.S. Fraser)
