Holiday Treats

January 4, 2008

Teacher treats are among my favorite things about the holidays–we love our elementary school, McDonald School, so much that it’s hard to rein in our desire to make treats for them.  These gingersnaps are, as even barely observant readers will note, shamelessly ripped off from the cover of Martha Stewart’s December issue.  I used the birdhouse cookie cutter I got from my SweetPea Swap partner, Brenda.   It was perfect.

Tuxedo Boy’s teacher confided in us earlier this year that she loves peppermint bark, so we made her a lunchbag of this excellent vintage fabric and filled it with white and milk chocolate peppermint bark made by Tuxedo Boy himself.

For my office, it was these cutie-pie gingerbread mini-muffins with lemon cream frosting.

They were perfect for the office, because they were tiny, so even though everyone was already fussing about gaining weight over the holidays, they ate these without guilt.

I’m so glad you liked them! Soon it will be Valentine’s Day, and new treats will arrive for the Teachers’ Lounge–heart-shaped, of course.
